A little bit more info on the Power Cut Choir

THE POWER CUT CHOIR
Artistic Directors: Jude Stewart and Roisin Murray.

A vocal collective who perform a mix of eclectic non-electric songs. We are just the kind of power that you need in a power cut.

The Power Cut Choir was blown off the streets and into your earholes on a blustery Glaswegian Sunday in March 2010. Finding refuge in Jude Stewart’s basement they kept hearts warm by singing and wringing their souls out.
Musical influences such as Talking Heads surface in staccato style renderings that are soothed by a gentle guiding hand from Ivor Cutler, warmed up by a peppering of Sleater Kinney aided by a cheeky slap from Judas Priest. All these perfect ingredients add up to the Power Cut Choir’s recipe for a perfect festival.
